What is Reflexology?
A good foot massage can be one of the greatest pleasures in life. With knowledge, it can also be a non-invasive and extremely effective method of treating ailments and promoting overall wellness.
If we think of foot massage as a simple type of reflexology, then its as old as the human race.
However, there is a difference between a foot massage and reflexology, although both have the benefit of total relaxation, reflexology is specific pressure techniques, on precise reflex points based on the premise that reflex areas on the feet correspond with all parts of the human body. Reflex points are found on the hands and ears as well. the reflex points on the feet are easier to find and work on making foot reflexology more benefitial.
Our reflexology treatments don't isolate a disease and treat it symptomatically or work specifically on a problem organ or system. Reflexology works on the whole person with the intention of inducing a state of balance and harmony.
What to expect from a reflexology Session
Because reflexology stimulates the bodies own healing ability, its important to understand that when your body starts to heal itself you may experience the following:
- Sinus Drainage
- Colon Release
- revitalize Energy
- mental clarity
- better digestion
You will benefit the most from reflexology if you choose to have a session once or twice a week for approximately 4-8 weeks. This gives the body a chance to reprogram its cells to a state of well being. After that, a session once a month or so, should keep you in balance.
